Continue the delivery of excellent public service and help make the life of people better amid the challenges brought by the Covid-19 pandemic.

This was the message of Philippine Information Agency Director-General Ramon Cualoping III to the Presidential Communication Operations Office family in the region during the ground breaking ceremony of the PIA-Cordillera Office at DPS barangay last week.

Cualoping said as government communicators, the past five years of President Rodrigo Duterte’s administration have been tough for the PCOO.

“You have been working tirelessly for the past 16 months despite the perils and the danger due to the pandemic and even some people do not appreciate what we do. So you must always remember that the government is here not to be appreciated but to make the lives of people better,” Cualoping said.

“That is why government life, especially communication, conveyance of information is a vocation more than a career. Changing lives is most essential, so always think about meritocracy, servanthood, and excellence in what we do. We shall overcome and we will win this fight against Covid-19,” he added.

Cualoping also emphasized the importance of the soon-to-rise PIA-Cordillera building in conveying vital and relevant information to the public.

He said communication played and still plays a very vital and relevant role to the success of the Duterte administration, to the success of the national government under the president, and to the success of local government units over the past years and also during the time of Covid-19.

“So, as we embark on the final year of the Duterte administration, the story of the Duterte legacy is all about investing in the future and this groundbreaking is a testament of high investment to the future. For the future generations of Cordillera – future communicators and media practitioners of the Cordillera,” he said.
