Apayao Gov. Elias C. Bulut, Jr. led the distribution of P10,000 cash incentives to each athlete, who won medals in the second leg of Cordillera Administrative Region Athletic Association Meet 2023.

A total of 21 volleyball athletes who won gold medals in the elementary and secondary girls’ divisions were awarded the cash incentive from the provincial government.

Elias Bulut, Jr. handed over cash incentives to the members of the Apayao volleyball squad who won gold medals in the elementary and secondary girls volleyball in the second phase of the Cordillera Administrative Region Athletic Association Meet 2023. — Jomela Dela Torre

Their coaches also received P3,000 each.

Out of the 21 athletes, 12 were from Alem Elementary School and nine were from Pudtol Vocational High School.

The volleyball athletes were among the many achievers who represented the province in various events in the CARAA Meet 2023 where the province placed second.

Gold medalists received P10,000 while silver medalists got P7,000, and bronze medalists got P5,000.

Bulut expressed his admiration for the athletes’ courageous spirit in bringing honor to the province.

He encouraged them to continue their journey by dedicating more time to enhancing their skills. He also commended the coaches for bringing out the best in their trainees.

Elementary teacher and coach, Myrien Agustin, expressed her gratitude to the provincial government for its continuing support to the athletes and for being generous in providing incentives to the medalists and their coaches.

Bulut and Apayao Rep. Eleanor Bulut-Begtang have reiterated their support to the athletes in future competitions believing in their ability to bring honor to the province. – Jomela Dela Torre
