The city government has assigned new loading and staging areas for public utility jeepney (PUJ) trunklines plying the plaza route as part of the traffic decongestion and de-pollution strategies implemented in the city.
In Executive Order 114 s. 2020 issued July 23 by Mayor Benjamin Magalong, the new loading and staging areas, which will take effect Aug. 1, are:
Gov. Pack Road (loading area) and Sandico St. (staging area) for the routes Baguio Plaza- Mines View and vice versa, Baguio Plaza-Navy Base and vice versa, Baguio Plaza-Tiptop and vice versa, Baguio Plaza-Pacdal Liteng and vice versa, Baguio Plaza-Lucnab and vice versa, Baguio Plaza-Maria Basa and vice versa, Baguio Plaza-Happy Hallow via Country Club and via Kadaclan and vice versa and Baguio Plaza-Camp 7 and vice versa;
Claudio St. (loading area) and Calderon St. (staging area) for Baguio Plaza-San Vicente/Poliwes/Camp 8 and vice versa;
Claudio St. (both loading and staging) for Baguio Plaza-Loakan and vice versa;
Otek St. (both loading and staging) for Baguio Plaza – Kitma and vice versa; and
Diego Silang (both loading and staging) for Baguio Plaza-Diego Silang and vice versa and BAL PNR Circle Hillside and vice versa.
The PUJ staging at Gov. Pack Road will take the following route for ingress or entrance options: from point of origin to Leonard Wood Road to Gen. Luna to Fr. Carlu St. to Upper Session Road (Casa Vallejo) to Sunshine Park to Gov. Pack Road (staging area); and from point of origin to Leonard Wood Road to Leonard Wood Road (Hotel 45) to Upper Session Road (Casa Vallejo) to Sunshine Park to Gov. Pack Road (staging area).
For egress or exit options: from Gov. Pack Road (staging area) to Post Office Loop (YMCA) to Gen. Luna to Upper Bonifacio St. to Sumulong to Laubach Road to Gen. Luna to Leonard Wood Road to destination; or from Gov. Pack Road to Post Office Loop (YMCA) to Gen. Luna to Leonard Wood Road to destination; or from Gov. Pack Road to Upper Session (Casa Vallejo) to North Drive to Leonard Wood Road to destination.
In the order, the mayor said the strategic locations of loading and staging areas will help decongest traffic and lessen pollution at the central business district.
