Team Lakay’s John Cris Corton will be back in action when the world’s fastest growing mixed martial arts promotion in 2019 will stage its 41st event in Bahrain on Sept. 17.
Brave Combat Federation announced that Corton will face Magomed Idrisov of Dagestan, Russia in the flyweight division of Brave 41: Daniel vs Fakhreddine.
By many indications, Corton needs this win, as he has suffered back-to-back losses during his last two appearances in Brave CF.
After winning his Brave debut against Hussein Ayyad Abdulla in September 2018, Corton was defeated by Abdul Hussein and Zia Mashwani in March and October 2019, respectively.
Corton’s opponent, who is taller than him, will be making his Brave debut after he saw action in various MMA promotions mostly in Europe and Asia.
Idrisov, who has 10 wins and two losses, has nailed two back-to-back wins before he signed with Brave CF.
The Russian fighter has defeated some of the top flyweight warriors in various MMA promotions since 2013. Among his victims is Herbert Burns of Brazil, who is now with the Ultimate Fighting Championship.
Brave 41 fight card will be headlined by Daniel Pereira and Mohammad Fakhreddine for the middleweight world championship while Brazilians Lian Santiago and Lucas Martins will fight for the lightweight division in the co-main event. – Harley F. Palangchao
