Now that our beloved city of vanishing pines and Ibaloys is welcoming more visitors, this near-sighted Ibaloy is echoing the call of a local official who is appealing for the intensified implementation of crowd management measures in the overpopulated summer capital’s public areas like Session Road especially during weekends when tourists usually abound.
City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Officer Antonette Anaban said the move is part of the city’s contingency plan against the Covid-19 Omicron variant. She also urged the continuous monitoring of establishments for their strict compliance with minimum public health standards (MPHS) to prevent the spread of the virus.
Activities are under the contingency plan’s strict compliance with MPHS priority area, Anaban said, with the city’s safety seal and RED Teams to spearhead the implementation.
Anaban said the plan’s goals are to suppress transmission, reduce exposure, protect the vulnerable, reduce mortality and morbidity from all causes, and save lives.
Its priority areas are ramp up vaccination of priority groups, stricter border control, continue granular lockdowns, monitoring of critical supplies and equipment, mandatory facility-based isolation/quarantine, activation of contingency plans of hospitals including their accordion policy. Also, to strengthen risk communication, restrictions of unvaccinated individuals in their homes unless with valid reasons, patient transport service, regulate mass/social gatherings, contact tracing, emergency hiring of health workers, tourism events, triage resources, and Covid-19 appropriation, are the other priority areas, she said.

Here’s “Let me count the ways” by Yoko Ono: “Let me count the ways how I love you/ It’s like that gentle wind you feel at dawn/ It’s like that first sun that hits the dew/ It’s like that cloud with a gold lining telling us softly/ That it’ll be a good day, a good day for us/ Thank you, thank you, thank you.”

Let’s end with a prayer: “Thankful Lord, that You’ve blessed me beyond measure. Thankful that in my heart lives life’s greatest treasure. That You, dear Jesus, reside in that place and I’m ever so grateful for Your unending grace. So please, heavenly Father, bless this food You’ve provided, and bless each and every person invited.”
May our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ continue to bless and keep us all safe.
