Participants from different schools in Baguio City, Nueva Ecija, Pangasinan, Ilocos Sur, and Kalinga, showed their prowess in the street dancing and drum and lyre competitions of this year’s Panagbenga Festival with the theme, “Celebrating traditions, embracing innovation”.
Awardees in the drum and lyre category were Lucban Elementary School as champion, Tuba Central School in second place, Manuel Roxas ES in third place and the Special Award for Innovation in Musical Arrangement went to Lucban ES.
The Special Award for Excellence in Drum and Lyre Dance Costumes, and Choreography went to Tuba CES.
The champion in the festival dance category was Tribu Rizal of Kalinga, which also won the Special Award for Innovation in Musical Arrangement and Special Award for Excellence in Festival Dance costume and Dance Choreography.
Placing second was Narvacan Naisangsangayan of Ilocos Sur and in third place is Baguio City National High School Special Program for the Arts.
