DanceSport Cordillera, Inc. (DSCI), in partnership with the province of Benguet, has set the second edition of a dancesports training camp for all ages on Dec. 10,11,17, and 18.

Interested participants must go through the technique class (Latin American and modern standard), sports conditioning, World Dancesport Federation general knowledge on dancesports, and the four components of Latin American and modern standard.

The event aims to train individuals across all ages, especially those with potential for the juvenile, junior, youth categories, under-21, adult, and seniors’ competitive dancing categories.

Registration is ongoing with P1,500 fee for first-time attendees and P1,200 for the first Benguet DanceSport camp completers. Registration ends on Nov. 25 while the venue will be announced soon.

The first dancesport training camp was held at the Ben Palispis Hall at the Capitol in June, participated in by 108 young dancers from the province.

Benguet Dancesport Team Coach Charibelle Pingawan, who also heads the DSCI, said the event is also a means of introducing dancesport to the kids and youth, as well as the public for their support to local athletes and even potential competitors.

Pingawan said the dancesport community in Baguio, Benguet, and rest of the Cordillera is slowly growing in number, owing to the support of individuals and local government units to their respective athletes.

Multi-awarded athletes of the Benguet Dancesport Team led by Pingawan and other coaches will facilitate the event.
