The Department of Labor of Employment-Cordillera will conduct a job fair on June 12 in celebration of the 124th Philippine Independence Day.

As in the past years, thousands of local and overseas employment opportunities for aspiring workers in the region are expected to be offered during the whole day job fair set at St. Louis University.

DOLE-Cordillera Director Nathaniel Lacambra said a preregistration for jobseekers intending to join the activity on June 12 started on June 4 to facilitate application procedures and avoid long lines and crowding at the venue. Minimum health protocols will be strictly observed.

Jobseekers are advised to come prepared by bringing complete job application requirements like résumé and credentials.

They are also encouraged to prepare extra copies of the requirements if they intend to apply for a job in different companies to get the most out of the one-day fair.

They are also reminded to wear a face mask and observe physical distancing while inside the venue.

Lacambra said the upcoming job fair will be the third to be conducted by DOLE-Cordillera face to face since the Covid-19 pandemic.

He said DOLE has been organizing the June 12 job fair nationwide since 1991 as part of the government’s goal of helping the public find jobs by offering jobseekers a venue where they could meet prospective employers and get hired. The agency also holds the Labor Day job fair every year.

Last year, DOLE-Cordillera had offered over 3,000 local and overseas employment opportunities to job hunters from June 12 to 15, 2021. – Hanna C. Lacsamana
