Government agencies are collaborating to provide avenues for young entrepreneurs in the Cordillera to learn valuable business concepts and networks to boost their entrepreneurial journey.

The Department of Trade Industry-Cordillera and the Commission on Higher Education Unifast-Cordillera kicked off the collaborative program dubbed Youth Entrepreneurship Program (YEP)-Project Mobilizing Available Resources through Inclusive Training on Entrepreneurship of Student-Grantees (Marites) on May 28.

Now in its third year, the YEP-Project Marites launching gathered more than 200 young entrepreneurs, youth organizations, and representatives from government agencies via Zoom and Facebook Live.

The program aims to equip the participants with valuable business skills from industry experts, provide them with networks through experienced mentors, as well as support and resources they need to kickstart their dream businesses.

The event featured business industry experts Vester Corporation Chief Executive Officer Alexander Bangsoy who talked on youth and entrepreneurial mind-setting and Fiesta Chills Milk Tea Café Chief Executive Officer Aulivia Ong, a former YEP beneficiary,  on  youth negosyo goals.

YEP-Project Marites graduates expressed gratitude for the project and shared testimonials on how the project had helped improved their lives.

Participants who will qualify in the project will undergo series of trainings which include three major components namely: Youth Start, Youth Net, and Youth Match.

The Youth Start will stir the entrepreneurial interest and encourage youth to start and grow their business ventures while the Youth Net will help connect the participants with right networks that will support them in finding resources.

The Youth Match will facilitate the expansion of their operations through enterprise promotion and matching opportunities.
