The Philippine Statistical Research and Training Institute will sponsor a free Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) seminar on statistical data management and analysis for evidence-based decision making on July 19 to 22.

The four-day training course aims to equip participants with skills on the assessment and management of locally-generated data, presentation and analysis of processed data, and use of data for preparation of plans and evidence-based decision-making.

The training will expose participants to different kinds of data.

They will participate in contextualized discussions and workshops through the use of local government unit-generated data for management and analysis.

They will be properly guided on the use of appropriate summary measures, tables, and charts for different data types and how to present them accurately.

National Economic and Development Authority-Cordillera Director Susan Sumbeling encouraged those interested to join the training. One participant per agency can attend face-to-face while others may join online.

The Regional Cordillera Regional Sub-Committee on SDG also approved the 2022 RSC-SDG Work and Financial Plan during its first regular meeting.

The 2021 SDG Watch or SDG monitoring updates including the proposed additional SDG indicators was recommended for review.

The RSC-SDG was created to monitor programs for the SDGs, review SDG-related programs and policies, and stakeholder engagements.

The SDGs are the blueprint to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all by addressing global challenges such as poverty, inequality, climate change, environmental degradation, peace, and justice. – Debbie E. Gasingan
