The Games and Amusement Board (GAB) wished undefeated Cordilleran boxer Carl Jammes Martin more success in his future fights following his impressive win in Parañaque on March 12.
The 22-year-old Martin and his team paid courtesy call to GAB Chair Baham Mitra where he presented the World Boxing Association Asia super bantamweight belt he won against Ronnie Baldonado.
Martin made a strong comeback to stop Baldonado via technical knockout in round 11 of their championship bout after he was knocked down in round two.
The boxing pride of Lagawe, Ifugao retained his Philippine super bantamweight belt and was declared the new WBA-Asia super bantamweight champion following his win against Baldonado.
Martin has improved his professional record to 19 wins with 16 by way of KOs and TKOs.
GAB officials know that Martin will have more big fights ahead of him owing it to his recent contract signing with Probellum.
Martin joined four-division world champion Nonito Donaire, world champion Donnie Nietes and fellow unbeaten prospect Jade Bornea with Probellum, one of the world’s leading boxing promotions.
Probellum President Richard Schaefer is one of the most respected boxing promoters of the last 20 years having promoted some of the biggest names in boxing like Oscar De La Hoya, Floyd Mayweather, and Ricky Hatton, among other boxers.
Martin is making his presence felt in the boxing world, being one of the most exciting young Filipino boxers.
