Hope motivates us to persevere in the face of adversity and to keep going forward, no matter how and when this pandemic ends.
The Covid-19 pandemic has devastated all facets of life. Families, businesses, governments, and healthcare systems have all been affected. Healthcare providers are under immense pressure to provide the best quality of care while also protecting their own and their family’s health.
This pandemic is far from over. Nobody knows when things will return to normal or what the new normal will look like. These thoughts elicit feelings of distress and sorrow. I am sure many of you feel nervous, sad, and angry as you try to keep “safe and secure at home,” especially when you don’t have food to eat in your table.
As ordinary human beings, how do we find hope amid this pandemic?
First, look for hope in unexpected circumstances. We must understand that problems and challenges such as the pandemic are part of our life. Yes, we may not understand why we have to face this situation. However, we are still capable of finding solutions and of being trained to be adaptive, no matter what challenge we face.
The Covid-19 pandemic is weird and frightening, but there are plenty of reasons for us to be hopeful and say that everything will be okay. I advise you not to be stressed and instead keep on hoping by having a positive attitude and putting it into action. This should alleviate the burden. After all, in life, there is a rainbow after the storm.
Second, be optimistic. We must commit to living an optimistic life regardless of the situation we are in and shine a light of hope when times are difficult. By doing this, you can look at the pandemic from a different perspective. Even though there is a pandemic, you can still go on living as long as you take precautions to prevent being infected.
Third, always keep the faith. If you hold on to your faith, the Lord will be with you every step of the way throughout your life, particularly when you need Him the most. He will be your guide and strength.
Always pray. By seeking hope, you take control of how you respond to your situation and how you deal with what happens next. Although it can be challenging to keep a positive attitude, remember that you can hope to see things in a different light. As stated in the Bible, “You will feel comfortable because there is hope; you will look around and relax comfortably. – Job 11:18-19.
If you adopt a hopeful and optimistic heart, you can breathe easier and expect a more pleasant future. That being said, I challenge you to find hope every day. (ROMA MAE B. VELASQUEZ)
