Ifugao police arrested a suspect wanted for rape and another for possession of illegal drugs.

Arrested on May 10 for statutory rape is Aljiver Dulnuan, 24, a farmer, and a resident of Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya. The suspect is listed as No. 5 top most wanted person at the regional level in Cagayan Valley.

He was nabbed in Jucbong, Lagawe by joint personnel of the Lagawe Municipal Police Station, provincial intelligence units of Ifugao and Nueva Vizcaya, and Criminal Investigation and Detection Group-Nueva Vizcaya.

The suspect was arrested by virtue of a warrant issued by Nueva Vizcaya Regional Trial Court Branch 29 Presiding Judge Cicero Jandoc with no bail recommended.

Earlier, the police also arrested in a buy-bust operation Anselmo Nava, 39, farmer, and a resident of Poblacion, Tinoc for violation of the Dangerous Drugs Act.

He was collared by joint personnel of the Tinoc MPS, Ifugao provincial intelligence and drug enforcement units, and Regional Intelligence Division of Police Regional Office-Cordillera.

Police seized from the suspect two sachets of shabu worth P2,040 and P2,000 buy-bust money.

Aside from ensuring peace and order amidst the threat of the coronavirus disease-2019, the Ifugao police continue to go after individuals who have been in hiding, those who committed crimes, and those who continue to violate laws. – Press release
