LAGAWE, Ifugao – Residents of Barangay Camandag in Asipulo will now have more access to government services with the recent turnover of the upgraded Camandag-Cawayan farm-to-market road (FMR).

The P4 million worth FMR was funded through the Support to Barangay Development Program (SBDP) project of the National Task Force to End Local Armed Conflict that aims to connect more places in the municipality to boost economic productivity.

Camandag Punong Barangay Delson Humakey thanked the government for the concreting of the Camandag-Cawayan FMR.

“This road will help us a lot and speed up the transportation of agricultural products of the community to the market. Even though the funding went down to only P4M, we are still thankful to the efforts of the government,” Humakey said.

He enjoined the community to take good care of the road for the benefit of everybody.

He is also hopeful more development projects will reach their barangay.

Mayor Archie Lee Quindo lauded the residents of Barangay Camandag for their unity that led to the successful completion of the FMR that will provide more convenience to the farmers and the community as whole.

“Congratulations to all of you because one of the most priority projects in Camandag was finished through the cooperation of everyone. This is a proof how the government cares for the people and its sincerity to eradicate insurgency,” Quindo stated.

Meanwhile, the Nanhabtan-Banga FMR in Barangay Pula under the same program was earlier inaugurated. Two more SBDP projects are set for turnover to the community. – Marcelo Lihgawon
