LAMUT, Ifugao – The float of the Lamut Overseas Foreign Workers Organization was adjudged the champion in the 2023 “Lamut Rambakan” float contest with P25,000 cash prize.

The design featured a commercial plane representing the sacrifices of OFWs who go abroad to work for their families.

The JM Farm and Restaurant and YGL placed second and third, respectively, with P20,000 and P15,000 prizes.

Consolation prizes of P10,000 each were awarded also to the Lamut Public Market Vendors Association, Special Action Force, and the GRIO.

The float parade highlighted the opening day of the three-day event held on April 3 to 5 marking the 64th founding anniversary of Lamut.

Another highlight of the festival was the agro-industrial and trade fair at the Tourism Village showcasing the one-town, one-product and other local products, arts and crafts to support farmers and micro, small, and medium enterprises in the municipality.

With the   theme “Umuna latta ti Lamut iti panagkaykaysa ken balligi,” the festival was supported by the local governments and non-government offices in the municipality. – Marcelo Lihgawon
