BONTOC, Mountain Province – Three infrastructure projects were inaugurated in the municipality, paving the way to a more progressive community and safer transportation.

The projects, rehabilitation of Am-ancho farm-to-market road (FMR) and rehabilitation of Bontoc-Dalican FMR amounting to P23 million and P25M, respectively, were funded through the Department of the Interior and Local Government’s Local Government Support Fund-Financial Assistance to Local Government Units (Falgu).

The project, “Construction of Am-ancho slope protection” was funded by the Seal of Good Local Governance Incentive Fund for 2022 amounting to P5M.

DILG Provincial Director Evelyn Trinidad, who represented Regional Director Araceli San Jose, conveyed her commendation for the successful completion of the projects emphasizing that the projects signify progress, accessibility, and a stronger foundation for the agricultural sector.

Mayor Jerome Tudlong, Jr. also expressed his gratitude to the DILG for their support to the municipality acknowledging the instrumental role the DILG played in securing funding, providing technical expertise, and fostering collaboration between different levels of government.

“The successful completion of these projects is a testament to the strong partnership we share with the DILG and other government agencies. Our shared commitment to community development has significantly contributed to the realization of these road rehabilitations, which are pivotal for the growth of our agricultural sector and the well-being of our residents,” Tudlong added.

Bontoc Ili Punong Barangay Eva Mila Fana-ang and Dalican Punong Barangay Crispin Chang-awen both expressed their gratitude to the municipal government and the DILG for their support in uplifting the lives of the residents.

Also present during the inauguration and blessing were Vice Mayor Eusebio Kabluyen, councilors Jupiter Jule Kalangeg and Dan Evert Sokoken, Municipal Administrator Eric Fulangen, Sr., Municipal Local Government Operations Officer Lourdes Claire Peel, department heads and representatives from the LGU, personnel of DILG-Mountain Province, project contractors, and community members.
