Another biking challenge in Benguet is set on Aug. 14 in Itogon, Benguet.

The bike for-a-cause, dubbed the Itogon Bike Challenge 2022, is organized by the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 15, Bike Shop, and the local government of Itogon.

The race features 15 to 19 years old, 20 to 29, 30 to 39, 40 to 49 and 50 and above categories for the mountain bike men and an open category for the female participants.

The race course spans 28 kilometers with 80 percent road and 20 percent gravel. Bikers will have to negotiate a 75 percent downhill and 25 percent uphill race route.

Assembly time is at 5 a.m. with the starting line at the Itogon town hall and ends in Barangay Dalupirip.

Organizers said the event will not have exclusive use of any public roads during the race, thus bikers are urged to observe traffic regulations at all times during the race.

Registration fee is P950 inclusive of finisher’s medal, post-race meal, refreshments, aid station, certificates, and rewards for podium finishers.

Interested bikers must be 15 years old and above, must use mountain bike only, has one valid ID, and vaccination card.

Tire specifications must be 1.95 minimum. Slicks tires and worn out tires, including rigid forks are not allowed. All bikes must have fully functional brakes.
