Elite runners Kristian Joergensen and Sandi Abahan dominated the open category of the virtual run held at Loakan Proper, Baguio City on weekend.

Joergensen topped the male side of the event organized by Virago Bike and Run Events with a total of 24.75 kilometers within the three-hour run period in 11 laps.

Joseph Velo and Rey Mark Quezada trailed him, both finishing 20.25 kms. in nine laps. James Tellias placed fourth with 18 kms. in eight laps.

Southeast Asian Games gold medalist for obstacle running course Abahan conquered the course with 20.25 kms. in nine laps to rule the distaff side while second placer Sunshine Briones finished with 18 kms. in eight laps.

Cielo Peñaflor placed firstin the 22 to 29 years old category followed by Vinson Ramos and Louie Ganayan.

George Killo led the 50 and up men category trailed by Geraldo Costa and Sammy Guabna while the 40 to 49 years old saw Dexter Barian topping the category followed by Gary Padsing.

Jessica Amos led the winners in the 40 to 49 female category followed by Jessica Hieras and a runner who only registered with the first name Michelle.

Also awarded were the winners in the 30 to 39 age category with Al Tellias on first place followed by Jet Ramos and Christian David Alacar, while the women’s side saw Marjorie Velo on first place followed by Pauline Taasan and Marian Florendo.

Louie Agawa topped the 17 to 21 male category in the one-lap race in 14 minutes followed by Manuel Samuel and Pacle Kenneth while Sesame Caronongan is the lone female winner in the category finishing it in 22 minutes.

The 13 to 16 year old category saw Miko and Justin conquering the 2.25-km. in under 15 minutes.

In the kiddie race, Roy dela Costa topped the eight to 12 age group with a time of 16 minutes and 50 seconds followed by Glen Gines, Kal-el Achiles Carranza, and Shadrack Tegwa.

The participants ran through the trail route then uploaded their best time through Strava, a GPS cycling and running application which tracks movements. – Ofelia C. Empian
