TABUK CITY, Kalinga – The newly constituted Provincial Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome Council targets schools in the intensified campaign against human immunodeficiency virus and AIDS.
Gov. Ferdinand Tubban, who is also the Provincial AIDS Council chair, directed members to conduct information, education, and communication (IEC) activities particularly in city schools that are exposed to urban life where HIV/AIDS prevalence is higher.
The council also targets in its 2020 plan, partnership with municipal councils to pass ordinances that would strengthen HIV-AIDS prevention measures in their localities. – Peter A. Balocnit
