Team Lakay’s title contenders Danny Kingad and Geje Eustaquio are both excited to have their own world championship rematch against reigning undisputed ONE Championship flyweight king Adriano Moraes of Brazil.

This, after Moraes cemented a legacy as one of the best flyweights in the world in his era after his stunning knockout win against former longest Ultimate Fighting Championship flyweight king Demetrius Johnson in the main card of ONE on TNT 1 held in Singapore on April 5.

The 31-year-old Moraes is the first fighter to stop the 34-year-old Johnson, who is considered as the greatest of all time and one of the best pound-for-pound mixed martial artists in the world.

Before the Moraes-Johnson bout, which was aired on U.S. primetime television, Kingad and Eustaquio had their own preview of the championship bout with Kingad saying Johnson has a slight advantage while Eustaquio wanted Moraes to win the fight.

Currently ranked the top contender for the ONE flyweight belt, Kingad lost via unanimous decision to Johnson in the ONE Grand Prix finals in October 2019. That made Kingad the top two contender for the belt.

Kingad earned the respect of MMA fighters around the world after he gave Johnson a high-reel bout when pundits were expecting that the fight would come to an early finish.

Four years ago, Kingad lost to Moraes via rear-naked choke in the first round.

Eustaquio, on the other hand, wants a trilogy with Moraes, whom he defeated via split decision in June 2018 to capture the ONE flyweight world strap. He lost the belt to Moraes in their world championship rematch via unanimous decision in January 2019.

Meanwhile, ONE Championship has not yet announced who could be the next opponent for Moraes, who has 19 wins against three losses in his 10-year professional MMA career.  – Harley F. Palangchao
