Mayor Benjamin Magalong issued two executive orders relating to the conduct of the Bar exams slated on Sept. 17, 20 and 24.

Executive Order 118 issued on Sept. 14 imposes a liquor ban within the 50-meter radius of Saint Louis University.

To take effect immediately, the EO imposes a ban on public consumption and selling, dispensing, distributing, and serving of liquor and other alcoholic beverages within a 50-meter radius of SLU on the following dates: midnight of Sept. 16 up to 10 p.m. of Sept. 17; midnight of Sept. 19 up to 10 p.m. of Sept. 20; and midnight of Sept. 23 up to 10 p.m. of Sept. 24.

The EO warns that violations of its provisions shall be dealt with according to existing laws and ordinances applicable; and directs all concerned departments to ensure a safe, peaceful, and orderly examination period at SLU during the said dates.

The mayor also issued EO 119 exempting authorized vehicles of the Supreme Court on Sept. 15, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22 and 25 from the Baguio City Number Coding Scheme.

There are 1,049 hopefuls set to take the exams beginning today. – Gaby B. Keith
