This couple’s relationship would have been a good story for a “you and me against the world” scenario, only that the police is now planning to sue them for planning a getaway that dragged innocent people into the story of these star-crossed lovers.

In the early morning of May 6, the Baguio City Police Office was alerted by a report that a woman has been allegedly abducted at Dizon Subdivision. A video of the incident, which was captured by CCTV surveillance cameras, was uploaded on social media and alarmed those who have seen the footage.

The woman’s boyfriend was tagged as a person of interest but as investigation progressed, the BCPO reported that the incident was not what the public think it was.

The supposed abduction was a classic case of “kidnap me,” which means it was staged by no less than the abducted woman herself and her boyfriend – a convict who was recently released from jail.

BCPO reported the couple planned the abduction to mislead the woman’s parents who were against their relationship.

The statement released by the BCPO showed the exchange of text messages between the couple showing how they planned her abduction.

It turns out, the police saw nothing romantic in the incident as BCPO outgoing director, Col. Allen Rae Co, announced they will file charges against the two.

“They acted without due consideration to the welfare and peace of mind of the public and as such, this office is contemplating on filing charges against the couple for causing undue alarm and agitation in the community. And as police resources are scarce and with many cases to investigate, the PNP considers making false reports and faking crimes to be a serious waste of its resources,” the BCPO said in a statement. – Rimaliza A.
