The Philippine Boxing Federation bantamweight championship showdown between Carl Jammes Martin and Renoel Pael will proceed March 21 in Mandaluyong City.
The undefeated Martin has announced the new date of the much-awaited boxing match after organizers postponed it last month due to the threat of the coronavirus disease-2019.
The 20-year-old Martin also announced the supporting bouts will push through, adding all concerned fighters are training hard for the showdown.
The reigning PBF bantamweight champion also appealed to boxing fans to continue supporting local boxing promotions and not be frustrated with the rescheduling of the event.
Martin’s camp has been training hard since the start of the year knowing that Pael is a formidable opponent who holds 23 wins with 11 losses and one draw under his belt.
Martin has an unblemished 15 win record, 14 by way of knock outs, including his recent bout against Philip Luis Cuerdo in December last year.
He won the vacant PBF bantamweight title against Benezer Alolod also through knock out in the seventh round of their fight in Mandaluyong City last year. – Harley F. Palangchao
