Mary Beth Yu So is an educator, skills development trainer and businesswoman, who shares time, talent, and treasure to the community.

With a degree in Tourism from the University of the Philippines, masters in Hotel and Restaurant Management from the Philippine Women University, and trainings here and other reputable industries, she was well-prepared when she became a faculty member and a dean and later as vice president for academics in higher educational institutions in the city.

A recipient of numerous awards, Yu So was also elected as one of the Board of Directors of the Hotel and Restaurant Association of Baguio, and is a member of advisory board, fellow, tourism trainer, and certified hospitality professional in educational institutions.

Her family’s businesses in Baguio, La Union, Pangasinan, and Ilocos have offered employee dependents’ academic and sports scholarships in all levels. Yu So has sent and is still sending beneficiaries to graduate schools here and as far as the Visayas and Mindanao.

Affiliated in various groups, Yu So has donated finances and materials to several institutions, including schools, artists, orphanages, and communities in various areas.

She was born in Cotabato, but she and her family has been staying in Baguio for the past 28 years.
