The Department of Trade and Industry-Cordillera is enjoining the public to support the micro, small, and medium enterprises of the region.

As part of the MSME Month this July, the DTI-CAR will hold an Agrario Trade Fair at SM Baguio from July 21 to Aug. 5.

In a radio program, DTI-CAR SME Development Division OIC Margaret Ramos said agrarian reform beneficiaries and assisted communities will display their products, such as processed coffee, gourmet coffee, cacao, processed foods, weaving products, and decors will be on display and for sale at SM City Baguio.

Aside from the trade fair, Negosyo Centers in the region will conduct entrepreneurial trainings for MSMEs.

Ramos also invited the MSMEs in the region to join the National MSME Summit 2023 on July 17 at the Manila Hotel.

With the theme, “Upgrade, upskill, and upsize MSMEs”, the summit aims to recognize the performing MSMEs, agencies, and private institutions that are assisting in the resolution of the plights and concerns of the MSMEs, Ramos added.

The event also aims to cultivate entrepreneurship and enhance the programs and policy design capacity of the public sector for MSMEs.

Pursuant to the Magna Carta for MSMEs, the second week of July is declared as the MSME Development Week to institute continuing awareness of the primacy of small business in nation-building and in people empowerment, and to celebrate and espouse the firm commitment of the State in the promotion and growth of small businesses. – Debbie E.
