With only 14 days into the fight day, the camp of undefeated Ifugao boxer Carl Jammes Martin has yet to announce his opponent in the May 29 card in Laguna.

Earlier, Martin announced his May 1 bout against reigning Philippine super bantamweight champion Mark Geraldo was cancelled, but informed his fans and supporters his camp will pursue the May 29 bout.

But up to now, boxing fans are still waiting for an announcement on who will Martin fight next either in the bantamweight or super bantamweight division.

The 21-year-old Martin and his father-cum chief trainer, Abel, have been busy holding cross training in Manila as shown in the social media account of the rising Filipino boxer.

Martin, the reigning Philippine Boxing Federation bantamweight champion with an unblemished record of 17 wins, seemed determined to move up to the super bantamweight division after ruling the bantamweight class for three years now.

Aside from being the PBF champion, Martin also won the World Boxing Association-Asia bantamweight title in 2018 against Moon Chul Suh.

The Ifugao boxer also captured the vacant World Boxing Organization Oriental youth bantamweight belt in 2018 against Hashimu Zuberi and defended the belt in the same year against Huerban Qiatehe. – Harley F. Palangchao
