More than 300 players from close to 100 teams will see action in the 2nd Cordillera Golfers Foundation, Inc. Tournament, which will hand over valuable prizes to players who will nail hole-in-one in designated holes.

The executive committee also announced that San Miguel Corporation, the largest and most diversified conglomerate in the country, has extended support to the tournament.

This after SMC has learned the CGFI has allocated P2.4 million for its outreach program from the proceeds of its inaugural tournament in May 2023.

Private companies, corporations, and individuals also pledged to support the tournament set on April 1 to 6 at Camp John Hay Golf Club, Pinewoods Golf & Country Club, and Baguio Country Club.

The Department of Education-Cordillera, one of the primary partners of CGFI in its outreach program, has also expressed support to the second staging of the tournament that will draw players from Luzon, Visayas, Mindanao, and overseas.

Each of the eight schools division offices of DepEd-CAR received P300,000 worth of assistance.

Submission of entries will be until April 1 while the handicap index of each participant will be based on April 1 record of the National Golf Association of the Philippines.

The tournament will adopt the four to play, four to count format in all of the six main divisions, including the friendship division. Players with no registered handicap will be bracketed under the friendship division.

The scoring system will adopt the Stableford/PAL format, but this will be subjected to change if deemed appropriate by the tournament executive committee.

Practice rounds will be on April 1 to 3 while the tournament proper is on April 4 to 6.

Blue tee will be designated to all re-gular players while the seniors will be on the white tee. Lady golfers will use the red tee.

Request for tee time and flight mates will not be entertained, as the tournament committee reserves the right to arrange players in each flight and sche-dule tee times.
