With the indulgence of Baguio Midland Courier, permit me to use my space to extend my thanks and appreciation to the friends, partners and sponsors who made the annual EMA Cup Golf Tournament 19th edition a big success.
The tee-off on Oct. 7 at the Baguio Country Club was participated in by local and visiting par busters.
I am deeply overwhelmed and in near tears because when we started the series, I was a sitting congressman and you and I know that being in power gives one an advantage in seeking for help.
But here we are, been out of it since 2019 yet our partners did not mind. Again, the golf was for the benefit of the various projects of the Rotary Club of Downtown Session headed by president Kelwyn Roi Tan and the St. Theresa of Avila Foundation.
The activity, which is quite a record breaker as it surpassed the million mark, will augment the funding of its present and forthcoming medical missions, feeding programs, scholarship programs, and other worthy projects which they have been undertaking for the past years.
School toilets, water system in Itogon and medical missions in Kibungan and other parts of Benguet; blood-letting, wheelchair-giving, college scholarships, and at one point P5 million given to the Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center for dialysis patients.
Again, we thank our friends, partners and sponsors who helped make the golf tournament possible:
