TABUK CITY, Kalinga – Travel to Magnao, a remote barangay of Kalinga, will soon be comfortable with the near completion of P106 million Pinagan-Magnao road concreting project.
The Provincial Project Monitoring Committee inspected on Jan. 5 the four-kilometer project being implemented by the Provincial Engineering Office (PEO).
The team found the project substantially completed. Remaining work are the road stretch’s thermoplastic painting on center and side linings, and clearing of construction debris.
Aside from ease of travel, the project will also boost economic activities in the area.
In a related development, six of seven slope protection projects funded under the Local Government Support Fund-Disaster Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Assistance Program, and implemented by the provincial government through the PEO amounting to a total of P18 million are completed. One is still ongoing implementation.
Based on the PEO monitoring report as of Dec. 29, 2021, completed projects are improvement of Cabaruan-Sucbot-Magaogao provincial road amounting to P3M; improvement of Malalao-Makilo provincial road – P3M; improvement of Pantikian provincial road – P3M; improvement of Pakawit provincial road – P2M, and improvement of Abraham Omao-Balawag provincial road in the amount of P1M. – Peter A.
