A 38-year-old anti-narcotics agent from Bontoc, Mountain Province assigned at the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in Angeles City, Pampanga is believed to have been abducted by state agents outside the PDEA office.
PDEA Investigation Agent Officer 1 Merton T. Fesway has been missing since June 25. As of July 1, his family and friends are still looking for him. On June 28, a lawyer from the Public Attorney’s Office in Angeles City wrote PDEA Region 3 Director Christian Frivaldo to investigate why one of his men is missing.
The letter stated that Fesway left the PDEA office alone on June 25 while his officemates were at the PDEA regional office in San Fernando City, Pampanga to attend the office anniversary that day.
The PAO lawyer informed Frivaldo that all police stations in Angeles City, including the Angeles City Drug Enforcement Unit, Mabalacat and Dau police stations, informed the family of Fesway that the missing agent is not in their custody.
The Angeles City Prosecutor’s Office also informed the PAO that no case was filed against Fesway from the date of his abduction up to June 29.
The family and friends of Fesway have not received any call or text message from the missing agent since June 26.
Meanwhile, a concerned mother from Baguio City has informed the Courier on June 30 that his son, who is allegedly a friend of Fesway, is also missing after he travelled from Baguio to Angeles City on June 25.
The mother claimed they are seeking for assistance from concerned offices to determine if his son was abducted along with the missing PDEA agent. – BMC release
