LAGAWE, Ifugao – The Project Angel of the Department of Labor and Employment benefited 35 pupils of Anao Elementary School in Hingyon recently.
DOLE-Cordillera OIC Assistant Regional Director Emerito A. Narag, staff member from the DOLE-Ifugao, and the Mayor’s Office gave backpacks and school supplies to the beneficiaries as early gifts.
Project Angel Tree is a component of the DOLE Child Labor Prevention and Elimination Program that provides an array of social services that range from goods, clothing, educational assistance, or school supplies and even work and training opportunities.
These are provided by sponsors or benefactors (angels) to child laborers and their families.
The program aims to improve the economic and social conditions of child laborers and their families and increase the number of allies and advocates of child laborer prevention and elimination. – Marcelo Lihgawon
