PINUKPUK, Kalinga – The 1st Kalinga Provincial Mobile Force Company’s (KPMFC) best practice “Project KaBadang” has reached out to households and schoolchildren in Ballayangon, this town.

One hundred thirty families received assorted groceries while pupils from Ballayangon Elementary School and Aguimitan ES received 177 sets of school supplies and 50 pairs of slippers.

The items were donated by personnel of the 1st KPMFC and its Company Advisory Council and CVR3 Kalinga Eagles Region.

The activity was part of initiatives under the whole-of-nation approach to win the hearts and support of communities on the government’s war against communist terrorist groups.

It was also a venue to impart to the youth and students the value of education.

The beneficiaries were also briefed on fire safety awareness, anti-insurgency, role of youth in nation building, programs for the welfare of persons deprive of liberty, and anti-criminality campaign and crime prevention.

The outreach was in collaboration with the Cagayan Valley Region 2 Kalinga Eagles, 50 Infantry Battalion Philippine Army, Bureau of Fire Protection-Pinukpuk, Bureau of Jail Management and Penology-Kalinga, religious sector, Philippine Information Agency-Kalinga, Cordillera Youth Brigade, and Kabataan Kontra Droga at Terorismo.Punong Barangay Marilyn M. Wansi expressed gratitude and commended the efforts and initiative of the 1st Kalinga PMFC and other stakeholders in providing services at their barangay.
 Barangay Ballayangon was cleared from rebel groups by the Armed Forces of the Philippines and is now an End Local Communist Armed Conflict-covered area. – Peter Balocnit
