Run and bike events are slated next month as part of the Charter Day celebration of Baguio.

On Sept. 4, runners will participate in the Baguio City foundation day half marathon race featuring three-kilometer, five-km., 12-km., and 21-km. races.

Runners will go through Session Road towards Loakan and Kennon Road in a 100 percent road run.

For the three-km. and five-km. races, participants will start from Session Road to SM City Baguio towards Loakan Road and vice versa.

For the 12-km., runners will start from Session Road to Loakan and back while the 21-km. will start at Session Road to Loakan then towards Kennon Road and back.

Prizes await the top three male and female finishers as well as special prizes for the biggest delegation and the oldest and youngest runners.

On Sept. 25, the bike challenge dubbed “Hari ng Ahon” will be the first of the four-leg bike race set in Baguio and neighboring areas.

The first leg is set at Kennon Road while the succeeding stages are set along Ambuclao Road in December; Naguilian Road in February 2023; and Asin Road in March.

The race is open to mountain and road bikers aged below 19 to over 60 years old for male and below 20 and over 50 years old for female.

Early bird rate is P900 for the first 50 slots while the regular rate is P1,100 for the 300 slots until Sept. 18 only, whichever comes first.

Late registration rate is P1,300 inclusive of  race bib, finisher’s medal, event jersey, and snacks.

Participants may register at Toyville Bisikleta Kapihan Atbp at Hotel Albergo and Baguio City Toyville Centermall. Online registration will open soon.

Cash prizes await the champion in each category, as all top three male and female category winners will receive trophies, while the top four to 10 in the male and female categories will receive medals.
