The proud people of Sabangan, Mountain Province under the leadership of Mayor Marcial Lawilao, Jr. and Vice Mayor Rodolfo Mencion celebrated the annual 15th Gagayam Festival with a grand street dancing and cultural presentation on March 21.
With the theme: “Bikas ya Ulnos di e-Sabangan, Gasing ay Sumya-an”, the celebration has gathered young and old performers from the 10 barangays who highlighted the importance of fostering cultural heritage, resilience and unity.
The festival commenced with a cultural parade, followed by the “lechon on the street,” celebrating the municipality’s abundance of livestock and homegrown cooks.
Another highlight was the cultural presentation, during which Lawilao has emphasized the significance of preserving and promoting one’s own culture, heritage, and traditions.
