The Department of Education, in partnership with Goethe-Institut Philippinen, is holding a virtual Science Film Festival 2022 from Nov. 3 to Dec. 3 to promote learners’ science literacy and awareness.

With the theme “Equal opportunities in science”, the 13th edition of the festival aims to emphasize the commitment to raising awareness on the issue of diversity and inclusiveness in Science, technology, Engineering, and Mathematics from underrepresented groups.

Maximizing innovation and creativity in science and promoting equal opportunity will be emphasized in the virtual viewing of the 45 Science Edutainment films.

During the festival, students from public and private secondary schools, specifically regional science high schools, legislated science high schools, science, technology, and engineering-implementing schools, and special science elementary schools, are invited to watch the films by registering online through bit.ly/SffPh22Reg or the Goethe Institut Philippinen website.

All films are divided into different age groups and translated and subtitled into local languages to offer access without language barriers.

Learners are encouraged to vote for their favorite film to get a chance to win a gadget. Learners may refer to the Science Film Festival Philippines Website and Facebook page for the mechanics of how to join. – Press release
