Up and coming mixed martial arts fighter Jahn Serbo saved the night for Lions Nation MMA fighters when he secured a first-round victory via triangle choke in the undercard of Zeus Combat League at SM North Skydome on May 25.

Since the opening bell, Serbo showed he was the more dominant fighter as he kept Arsenio Balisacan of T-Rex MMA at bay with his low kicks and sharp punches.

Serbo just waited for the right moment for his opponent to commit a mistake before he executed a triangle choke on the ground for his win in the inaugural tournament of the newest professional MMA promotion in the country.

In the main event of the night, rising MMA fighter Aaron Posawen of Lions Nation MMA suffered his first loss against the Marwin Quirante of AJJ Sprawl MMA in a highly-anticipated bout.

Quirante of Marawi City secured a second-round rear-naked choke that caught the audience by surprise considering that he was fighting a protege of former and reigning international MMA champions.

Up and coming fighter Denver Songaben of Lions Nation MMA was also stopped by his younger opponent, Jayson Miralpez, via technical knockout in the first round of their flyweight bout.

The Lions Nation MMA fighters were supported by Benguet Rep. Eric Yap, Anchorwheel, Dante Bagsan Law Office, and Iron Bunny, among other supporters.

The maiden promotion of ZCL dubbed “Ground Zero 2024” has featured exhilarating matches with renowned professional MMA fighters.

Earlier, ZCL shared its commitment to uphold exceptional and well-supervised matches, aligning with the Games and Amusement Board advocacy to promote, professionalize, and protect Philippine boxing and other contact sports.
