SM City Baguio has been recognized as one of disaster resilience champions during the kick-off program and “Panangdadayaw iti Bituen to Amianan” of the Cordillera Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (Cordillera RDRRMC) and the Office of Civil Defense-Cordillera in observance of the National Disaster Resilience Month.
SM City Baguio has been an active partner of the Office of Civil Defense-CAR and Cordillera Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (Cordillera RDRRMC) in various disaster risk reduction and management (DRRM) and resiliency programs and projects in the region, particularly in the observance of National Disaster Resilience Month (NDRM) yearly and the quarterly conduct of Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill in Baguio City.
SM City Baguio has been a model for all other establishments in terms of DRRM capability and resiliency.
This year’s theme is “Sambayanang Pilipino, nagkakaisa tungo sa katatagan at maunlad na kinabukasan.”
“Ang nasabing tema ay napapanahon lamang at nagpapahayag na kailangan natin ang bawat isa. Ang ating nasimulan ay ituloy natin at ating tapusin nang mahusay. Mahalagang maisapuso natin at maging parte ng sistema sa paglilingkod lalo nasa ating adhikain makapagbigay ng wasto at mahusay na mga serbisyong DRRM sa ating kababayan dito sa Cordillera,” said OCD Regional Director Albert A Mogol, who also chairs the Cordillera DRRMC. – Press release
