A Manila-based economic expert said businessmen should change the way they do business amidst the coronavirus disease-2019 (Covid-19) pandemic.

In a video conference with Baguio Mayor Benjamin B. Magalong and city department heads, Carlo Asuncion said for businesses to survive impacts of the Covid-19, operators or owners of establishments should consider going online.

Asked by City Accountant Antonio Tabin on how the city’s limited funds may best be offered for rebounding micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), Asuncion advised the city government should prioritize MSMEs with the best transition plans as the city gears up towards the new normal.

Asuncion is an executive of an international banking firm.

The city government earlier announced it has P100 million to offer as loan to select local enterprises to jumpstart their businesses.
