The town of Tublay has emerged as this year’s champion in the premier inter-municipality division of the 6th Benguet Adivay Golf Cup held at Pinewoods Golf & Country Club on Nov. 10 and 11.

FJM Team, on the other hand, ruled the open division of the tournament with Benguet Vice Gov. Ericson Felipe as the chair.

ADIVAY GOLF CUP 2023 CHAMPIONS — Team Tublay composed of Sonny Liwan, Art Bacoco, Noel Lamsis, Bernard Capuyan, and Ronald Cosalan won as champion in the inter-municipality division of the Benguet Adivay Golf Cup 2023 held at Pinewoods Golf & Country Club on Nov. 10 and 11. Team Tublay composed of Bernard Capuyan, former Benguet Rep. Ronald Cosalan, Noel Lamsis, Sonny Liwan, and Art Bacoco ruled the inter-municipality category of the tournament that adopted the five to play with the four best scores counting system.

Capuyan, who collected 36 Stableford points, won as the individual champion in the inter-municipality division.

Bacoco, on the other hand, stole the thunder during the first day of the tournament when he aced No. 9 using a Taylormade pitching wedge and a Titleist 4 ball from the silver tee.

Team Mankayan was first runner-up with players Jhong Ambasing, Sammy Sab-it, Mars Mudon, Henry Rosito, and Alban Ayogat receiving the trophy for the mineral and vegetable-rich town.

In the open division, players from Mankayan composed of Sab-it, Mudon, Ambasing, Rosito, and Franky Miranda, who represented FJM Construction has emerged as champion.

The Valencerina siblings-dominated Carl-Fran Golf Guild was first runner-up with member Cyril Valencerina winning the overall individual champion in the division.

The other members of Carl-Fran were siblings Clifton and Ceasar, Clemente Trinidad, and Domeng Paglinawan.

Lawyer JM Mendoza won as this year’s putting Olympics champion with Bacoco as first runner-up while the “fairway inspector” award was given to a relatively beginner player.

The tournament organized by the provincial government in coordination with Pines Kumpadres Golf Club, Inc. has also caused the donation of P10,000 assistance each to terminally-ill patients from the 13 towns of Benguet.

The patients were selected from the list of indigents from the Department of Social Welfare and Development.
