More institutions have cancelled or postponed events lined-up during the enhanced community quarantine in Luzon.
On March 11, the Cordillera Studies Center of the University of the Philippines Baguio postponed the 3rd International Conference on Cordillera Studies (ICCS) scheduled on July 8-10.
“Due to the global health concern caused by the spread of the Covid-19, we are postponing the conference until the situation stabilizes,” conference convenor Ruth Tindaan said in a letter signed on March 11.
“As an international conference, the 3rd ICCS is expected to draw a crowd of foreign and local participants. We therefore decided to postpone the event to ensure the safety of our participants and staff.”
Tindaan also said the online pre-registration will be closed until further notice. She said all accepted papers prior to the announcement of the postponement are still considered accepted by the organizing committee unless a participant issues a notice of withdrawal. Any registration fees already paid will remain credited to the participant and will only be refunded if the participant makes a request for refund.
Tindaan said participants or those still interested to participate will be notified of the new schedule of the conference.
