Outdoor event enthusiasts are urged to break their own records in the 100 Miles Back Country virtual run and bike until Oct. 30.
Organized by Team Malaya, the event will let participants choose whether to bike, ride, or run the 160-kilometer challenge with an elevation of at least 1,500 meters above sea level.
“Let’s revisit our ‘break your personal record’ goals before 2021 ends. Do not let this pandemic hinder you from breaking new barriers. Break barriers, but not the rules. Please observe Inter-Agency Task Force rules,” organizers said.
Runners or riders should complete the 160-km distance within 30 days starting from the day of registration, which is until Sept. 30. Participants can start the challenge as soon as they register and finish it until Oct. 30.
Participants will need to submit screenshots or photos of them riding or running indicating the hour and distance covering the 100 miles. The submission of the photos for the event, which is a part of the Mountain Man virtual series, should be once only.
After submission, Team Malaya will verify the submitted proof before it will send an email indicating that the run or ride has been verified.
Finishers will be notified through their registered email and their time record will be posted on the Team Malaya social media account.
Prizes will be given to top finishers including the fastest time for the male and female category. Finishers will also receive items once the final list has been posted.
Registration is pegged at P1,700 each for the run and ride category inclusive of running t-shirt while those who want a cap should pay an additional P350.
