The city government has raised two truckloads of relief goods worth P202,935.52 as of Nov. 23.
Mayor Benjamin Magalong said the donations, which were received and managed by the Office of the City Social Welfare and Development under OCSWD Officer Betty Fangasan had been ferried to typhoon-stricken Tuguegarao City last Nov. 24.
The city will continue to receive donations in cash and in kind at the City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (CDRRMO) Building at Lower Quarry.
Personnel from the Public Order and Safety Division led by Marvin Herrera and Daryll Longid provided assistance in picking up and hauling the donated items.
The transport was facilitated by the CDRRMO headed by Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Officer Yolanda Munar whose team composed of Operations and Warning Officer Julius Santos, Jayson Jamorabon, and Roberto Abrod accompanied by William Pal-og, Clarence Calos, and Silverio Packoy of the City Engineering Office delivered the goods to Tuguegarao City.
Gov. Manuel Mamba welcomed the team.
Apart from the relief drive, the city government donated P2.8 million from its LDRRM quick response fund to the provinces in regions 2 and 5 that were badly hit by typhoons Rolly and Ulysses.
In Ordinance 148 signed by Mayor Benjamin B. Magalong, the provinces and cities that will receive the financial assistance are Cagayan (P300,000); Tuguegarao City (P200,000); Isabela (P500,000); and Albay, Camarines Sur, Camarines Norte, Catanduanes, Masbate, and Sorsogon (P300,000 each). – Aileen P.
