The multipurpose building that serves as a classroom, faculty and staff office, mini-library, and computer room for learners and teachers of the Mainit National High School in Bontoc, Mountain Province was officially inaugurated on May 10.

The one-story building constructed atop a hill overlooking the Mainit village is also equipped with electrical and water supply.

The completion of the multipurpose building was made possible through the cooperation of government workers, private individuals and groups, and the community residents.

For 10 months, personnel of the 14th Special Action Battalion of the Special Action Force, the 2nd Mountain Province Provincial Mobile Force, and the 1502nd Mobile Company of the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 15 joined forces with volunteers from the community in the construction works.

Parents and teachers also sought possible assistance from various private construction firms, especially those based in Mountain Province who donated construction materials.

The Cordillera Golfers Foundation, Inc. also played a major role in fast-tracking the completion of the building when it donated P300,000 worth of materials.

CGFI President Arnel I. Peil, also president of AIP Construction, graced the inauguration rites as guest of honor and speaker.

Earlier, Peil has challenged concerned agencies to possibly prepare a master development plan for the area where the building was constructed.

The area can be an expansion site for a sports complex and other facilities, including school buildings.

Mountain Provincial officials led by Rep. Maximo Dalog, Jr., Gov. Bonifacio Lacwasan, Jr., and Bontoc Mayor Jerome Tudlong also sent their representatives to grace the event where teachers, students, and community residents extended their heartfelt gratitude to all those who extended assistance to ensure the completion of the building.
