Aiming for another upset win, General Santos City boxer Garin Diaga, who is based in La Trinidad, Benguet is set for a rematch against Oriental Pacific Boxing Federation silver flyweight champion April Jay Abne in Cebu City on March 19.            
Garin, of Siam Youth Nak Muay stable, is amped to repeat his win against Abne when he scored a technical knockout victory over Abne in the co-main event of “Engkwentro Tres” at the ARQ Boxing Gym dropping his opponent three times in the first round in their non-title fight on Dec. 22, 2021.  
Originally of General Santos City, the 25-year-old Garin has made La Trinidad his training ground and is set to dominate the fight to improve his record to eight wins with four by way of knockout, and one loss. 
The 22-year-old Abne suffered his first loss through Garin and now stands with seven wins with three knockouts and one loss.
Meanwhile Garin’s stablemates, professional boxers Jestine Ace Tesoro will go toe-to-toe against veteran Lorence Rosas of Elorde South Box while John Paul Bentoso will face the more experienced Jonathan Almacen of Elorde Team.
The SYNM boxer Tesoro vies to improve his five wins and deflect a loss with his current record of three losses while Bentoso will try to keep his slate clean with three wins, all via knockout.
The two upcoming fighters are featured in the undercard fight of the “Ultimate Knockout Challenge Tiger 2022” on March 12 at the Flash Grand Ballroom, Elorde Sports Center, Sucat Parañaque. – Ofelia C. Empian
