LUBUAGAN, Kalinga – The 2nd Kalinga Provincial Mobile Force Company turned-over two-room comfort rooms and wash stand to the Manangol Elementary School in Barangay Mabilong under the “adopt-a-school” project.
With the aim to help learners improve their health and sanitation, the 2nd PMFC under the command of Lt./Col. Igan Ballangan, pooled their contributions to buy materials and then constructed the facilities.
“Amod toyok mi, istay chiyoy” (we are so grateful), Mabilong indigenous peoples mandatory representative to the barangay council Kagawad Henry Padong to the 2nd PMFC for choosing Manangol ES as beneficiary.
Lubuagan District Supervisor Conchita Waggawag also conveyed the gratitude of the Department of Education for the project. She called on the stakeholders to sustain the project.
“We should value this project. Rarely can you find an organization willing to contribute from their own pocket for the good and welfare of their fellowmen,” Waggawag said. She hopes that this good practice will be adopted by other agencies.
“MES head teacher Leah Tangob also expressed thanks and prays for more help from good Samaritans.
2nd MFC Deputy Force Commander Cpt. Avelmar Renan Garambas committed to spread the humanitarian endeavor to other communities under their area of responsibility. Their next project is the construction of a water tank in Mallongan, Western Uma, also in Lubuagan.
