SM City Baguio will be hosting a costume event for United Nations Day on Oct. 24, 2 p.m. at the mall atrium to celebrate the friendship that the nations have built and to show appreciation for the diverse culture each country has.
The UN 2019 Costume Contest is also where mall goers can view the colorful display of flags from various countries while enjoying songs and dances around the world.
The contest is open to students aged three to 13 years old from public or private schools and teachers of any age.
Participants must wear the full national costume, a sash with the name of the nation written on it, and a flag of the country being represented.
Winners in the categories will be based on adherence to costume requirement, 50 percent; creativity of costume/props, 30 percent; and overall appeal, 20 percent.
Winners in the Best in National Costume (female and male category) will receive: first place – P5,000 worth of SM gift certificates; second place – P3,000 worth of SM GC; and third place – P2,000 worth of SM GC.
The winner in the Best in National Costume for the teacher category will receive 5,000 worth of SM GC.
The school with the most number of participating students will win P10,000 worth of SM GC.
To join, head over to the mall administration office located at the lower basement parking of SM City Baguio to fill out the registration forms.
Participants are required to submit the list of names, age, and grade level of students who will join in the costume contest. Students are required to have a certificate of enrolment and they must also have a signed parent’s/guardian’s waiver. Each student contestant must be accompanied by his/her guardian and present a valid ID.
Participating teachers need to submit the list of names of the contestants joining from pre-school and elementary school, along with their certificate of employment.
The last day of registration is Oct. 24.
