BONTOC, Mountain Province – The lone Covid-19 case of the province has been discharged from the Luis Hora Regional Memorial Hospital (LHRMH) last June 29 and has returned in his hometown in Besao.
LHRMH staff under the leadership of hospital chief Dr. Ed Calpito during their flag ceremony sent off Rodel Degay home after his repeat swab test showed a negative result. He was asymptomatic when first tested.
Degay was brought to the LHRMH in Abatan, Bauko on June 16 after his result was released. He is a close contact of a positive case from Buguias, Benguet who went to Besao on June 6 before he was also swabbed.
Besao Municipal Health Officer Dr. Joy Didican, who fetched the patient from the hospital, said Degay will remain in the municipal quarantine facility until further notice. His close contacts whose swab tests also showed they are negative of the virus finished their mandatory 14-day quarantine period last June 30.
