LUMIN-AWA BIKE RACE — The 46.1-kilometer bike race from Tabuk City to Lubuagan in Kalinga, as part of the twin celebration of the Bodong Festival and foundation anniversary of the province, drew more than 400 bikers who competed in the different categories. David Pelevire and Femalyn Hidalgo topped elite riders in the open category of the 4th Bodong Festival Bike Challenge 2023 as part of the 28th founding anniversary of Kalinga. 
Pelevire led the open pro male category, as bikers passed through the 46.1-kilometer terrain from Tabuk City going to the finish line at Awichon Cultural Village in Lubuagan town. 
He was tailed by Zhedric Sadac while Nelson Balancio Jr. placed third during the event by more than 400 cycling enthusiasts from Regions 1, 2 ,3, and the Cordillera. 
Following Hidalgo in the female side of the event dubbed “Lumin-awa Kalinga Mountain Bike” were Mae Ramos and Jinky Damagon.
Edgar Paul Vihoray and Arnel Agcon ruled the 40 years old and above category followed by Nelson de Jesus and Jimmy Orteza. 
Jemuel Loyd Aggalao topped the 16-year-old and below while Leinard Costales and Aljhon Dalumay placed se-cond and third. 
In the 17 to 29 years old, the first to third placers were Jade Sagadraca, Vince Ngao-I, and Angelico Sepelagio while the 30 to 39event was topped by Boots Miranda followed by Deckol Dacanay, and Je Navarro. 
Nhoel Fabros topped the 40 to 49 followed by Remuel Sabado and Renson James Tomas while Jeffrey Aligan placed first in the 50 and above followed by Jing Lejao and Charles Simion. 
Glenmar Velasco topped the funbike male with Don Raily Viñan and Praceton Saking tailing him closely.
The youngest participants were Kurt Bryan Cavilan and Jules Nixon Mencero while the oldest biker was 58-year-old Ronald Pangda. 
The groups with the most number of participants were Tabuk Riders followed by Roxas Isabela Bikers and Siklista ng Kalinga. – Ofelia C. Empian
