April 27, 2024

As the year comes to a close, I wish everyone a healthy and more meaningful life ahead.
The year 2020 has been a challenging year for all of us. We wish everything will come to an end especially for those who are suffering, whether physically or financially.
There is always a glimmer of hope in the horizon. A small dot of light can break into an effervescent light. God is in our midst and so we pray.
Every year, before it ends, I prepare for another year with my friendly planner book. I start to record everything in it from day one, like a small diary. It helps to get back and review the things of the past, when it happened and the circumstances surrounding it. It is easier to connect the dots. It helps a lot when you have reports to make. At the end of the day, I make it a point to take notes of everything that happened during the day, important headlines and memorable events including the people who were part of it. It is so helpful because time, days and dates are important segments to the stories in your life.
It does not end with having a planner. The book pages are so minute and limited. Several notebooks go with it. There are notebooks for projects, meetings, things to do, and things to write.
I remember when I took the course. “At Journal’s Workshop” – all things connect to or with each other, even dreams and insights. And there is that “aha” moment, “Ay! Kaya pala!”
I am a paper person when I should be paperless. It is because I document everything. It’s probably a result of my years in government. But there is downside to being paperless, my desktop starts to be cluttered.
This coming year, I want to wish for everyone’s happiness. May your wishes come true. May you have more time for family, relatives and friends. Give them a call. Write a message on messenger. Text and make kamusta.
You might just be helping someone who needs a word of two. And since, you cannot hug, send a virtual hug. Go over your things, look for something you have not used for a year or two and give it to someone. Gifts need not be new, but something useful. Make someone happy.
Thank you, God, for another day and another year. After writing in your journal or planner at night – pray for goodwill and protection for your family and for all mankind.
Wishing you all a happy New Year!
