The Department of the Interior and Local Government-Cordillera will conduct an on-the-spot poster making contest on peace-building March 23 at the regional office in Baguio City to screen and qualify those who will represent the region to the national competition.
The national on-the-spot contest that focuses on peace and development will coincide with the national summit on the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (ECLIP), a government platform that targets to end insurgency.
Each participant shall illustrate, interpret, and emphasize the theme, “Nagkakaisang adhikain para sa makabuluhan at progresibong kapayapaan” or “Unified goals toward significant and sustainable peace and development.”
DILG-Cordillera Assistant Regional Director Araceli San Jose asked artists in the region to join.
“This contest has the specific objective to foster creativity through visual arts to spark messages of peace, unity, and development,” San Jose said.
Regional winners will receive certificates and P10,000 for the first prize; P6,000 for the second prize; and P4,000 for the third prize.
The first placer will represent the region at the national level and can win prizes ranging from P50,000; P30,000, and P20,000.
The contest is open to all individuals except for officials and employees of the DILG, member agencies of Task Force Balik Loob, local government units, as well as ECLIP committee members.
Only the first 100 registrants will be accommodated. Deadline of online registration is March 15. Official and final list of participants will be uploaded on the official FB page of DILG-Cordillera. Interested participants should register only through rebrand.ly/dilg-postermaking.
The DILG-Cordillera will provide basic artwork materials but participants may also bring their own.
The posters will be judged based on the relevance to the theme (40 points) originality (30 points), creativity (20 points), and presentation (10 points).
Each artwork shall include a description not exceeding 100 words to provide judges and spectators a clear view of the message and significance of the output.
